The red poppy symbolizes remembrance and sacrifice for fallen service members, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields" and the flowers that bloomed on battlefields after World War I. On the reverse of this beautiful coin, an honored veteran awaits his/her burial at Arlington Cemetery.
